Another devlog entry! Delayed by a couple days to show the finished project that took most of the time in last weeks : a robot dog character. I was only aiming to finish the highpoly version, But I made the whole thing, and pushed some small tasks to next week.
I wanted the dog to look friendly, while also resembling the design of the humanoid robots. They are made by the same company in a similar timeline. Here are some renders made with Blender Cycles. I tried to show some of its personality in these renders.

And these renders with Unreal Engine, featuring the house scene I made previously, and also in a blockout of the environment.

Check out the ArtStation post for more renders : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/a0qWZk
Other than that, I also finished the story outline, basically a “long story short” version( still ~30 pages) summary, with only the important interactions and none of the dialog or slice of life or anything like that. I sent it for beta reading and feedback. I already have a few ideas of things to change, especially the progression of the story, decisions, and how everything leads to the ending(s).
In terms of games, I playtested Industria II and managed to break it and find glitches and softlocks and collision issues and even sequence skips and “speedrun strats”. It’s fun, I might volunteer to do QA for indie games.
I replayed Portal and Portal2 for the developer commentary, it’s always great.
I tried out Demos of Barkour, DogPile, and the Last Caretaker. Dogpile was interesting, Barkour and Last Caretaker aren’t really my cup of tea, but they seem decent so far.
That’s all for this devlog. In the coming weeks I might join Beyond Extent’s community challenge, if I qualify. Other than that I only have a few small tasks for the gamedev.
Thanks for reading!
