Here’s a summary of my work for the past two weeks
Walkie-Talkie 3D model
This is a personal project for my porfolio. I wanted to practice more hero game props, CAD modelling, texturing, and also lighting and rendering in Unreal Engine 5.
Check out the detailed breakdown over on ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/blogs/abdoubouam/Agd2X/walkie-talkie-game-prop-breakdown

Mini Game Husky Drift
I made the lowpoly and textured models of the husky and the car and rigged and animated both of them. I am going with the style of a ps1 era game. Here are some random screenshots and pictures of me goofing around.

The main reason why I prioritized the model and rig is because it affects the way the car feels, especially with the camera moving and rotating to the left and right when cornering. The difference between a static model and camera and this are huge.
And yeah I switched to a follow camera because that’s more fun and feels way faster.
Robot Model
I made minor adjustments to the robot : added protective joint “cloth” and retargeted it to use Unreal Engine’s default mannequin rig and animations. It’s a bit of a compromise, especially when not wearing clothes, but it’s much easier to work with and I can find resources and existing animations and rigs. I tried to limit the metal deformations as much as I could, and it looks decent. Clothes will hide any imperfections.
Misc
Aside from this, I did some organization and story writing. I played a bit of Gato Roboto, Assetto Corsa EVO, and went back to Resident Evil 2 to grab some screenshots of the labs for future project reference. I also grabbed a perpetual Substance Painter and Designer license on steam, since my previous subscription expired.
Devlogs are still short because I’m focusing more on my portfolio, but I’ll keep working on them. It’s good to switch projects from time to time.
Thanks for reading, have a nice day!
