This week I worked mostly on cloth patterns and made props and worked on the lighting the house interior scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I made a few generic patterns for clothing and I learned how to use Affinity Designer properly. It took a while and it was hard to find references online, but I ended up searching for old pages and local store pages for examples.<\/p>\n\n\n
And while I was at it I added an “accent” layer. It can be decoration and trims, text, logos, patches and and pretty much anything. Here’s a breakdown<\/p>\n\n\n
I made a few doilies as well.<\/p>\n\n\n
I made them in Blender, using axial and radial symmetry and curves, then remeshed and sculpted to add some details. Breakdown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\nHouse Interior<\/h2>\n\n\n\nI made more props and materials for the house interior scene. Many of these skipped the highpoly altogether or used a beveled version of the lowpoly model, since they are environment props and I can’t make everything a hero prop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\nHere’s a WIP of the scene with the props in it. There are some placeholder cubes and cylinders. I spent a lot on the lighting and color grading the past few days<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/svg>\n\t\t<\/button><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\nTranslation<\/h2>\n\n\n\nSomeone asked if I’m supporting the Arabic language, so I had to check. I was worried the right-to-left layout would break things, but it surprisingly worked, as long as the font supported it. It has bugs, and it’s broken on the Steam Deck for some reason. I’ll investigate later, but it’s good to see that it’s possible and (probably) not as difficult as I thought.(I translated the text, so ignore any weird sentence structures or errors. I will hire people to do translations properly when the time for that comes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\nMisc<\/h2>\n\n\n\nI continued job hunting. Nothing interesting yet, but I’ll keep going and add more stuff to my portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\nI played and finished Tunic.
